Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited H.M.S Mercury In the summer of 1991, with Prince Phillip, on the occasion of the establishment’s fiftieth birthday.. She also visited Adrian Pelly, a resident of East Meon, who had worked as her Estate Manager at Windsor. The publican at what was then The George used this photograph as a place mat.
