I would be delighted to know more about ‘Miss Silk’. I am a descendent of Leah Silk (married George Charles Lambert), who I believe grew up at Frogmore. I have to say the lady in this photograph bears a striking resemblance to Leah’s daughter Dora (my great grandmother). Any information would be gratefully received.
I believe errors have been made regarding the identification of people in this photo. The small boy labelled Alan Turner (evacuee) is in fact me, Alan Richard Morley-McLean, and the lady standing on my left with her hands on the chair is my late mother, Mrs. Joanna McLean (née Morley-Horder) (not Mrs Turner).( And see photo on preceding page). At the time, we were living in The Court House, East Meon with my Grandparents, Percy Morley-Horder and his wife Katherine Apperly. Percy Morley-Horder was a famous architect and a benefactor in East Meon who saved the Court House by restoring it to its present grandeur.
